UNIT: A kiss from a princess (Fairy tales and traditional stories)

  • An oral telling of the opening of a traditional story: The Frog Prince retold by Margaret Carter.
  • Analysis of same text for narrative and dialogue features.
  • Dramatic presentation of story opening, acting in character.
  • The past simple tense (regular and irregular) as used for narration.
  • Speech marks as used in prose dialogue.
  • Group work to re-tell and present stories to the class.
  • The structure of traditional stories.
